Is it safe? What happens if I have a reaction?
IV drips administered by medical staff, after an assessment, are generally safe, and serious reactions are rare. At Synerva you are supervised throughout the drip, and the staff are trained to stop the administration and intervene immediately if a reaction occurs.
Safety is the priority. An IV drip administered correctly — by medical staff, with sterile materials and after an assessment that rules out contraindications — has a good safety profile. Possible reactions are usually minor (a bruise, a cold sensation), and serious ones, such as allergic reactions, are rare.
If a reaction does occur, the medical staff supervising you stop the administration immediately and intervene according to protocol. That is precisely why IV drips are given under supervision, not unsupervised.
It is important to tell us about allergies and medical conditions at the assessment, to keep any risk to a minimum.
