How an IV drip at home works
From start to finish, a visit takes about an hour for most protocols. Here is each step and how long it takes.
- 1
You book
2–3 minutes
You choose a time slot using the form, by phone or on WhatsApp. We confirm availability in your area and tell you the exact window in which the nurse will arrive.
- 2
Medical assessment
5–10 minutes, on site
Before any IV drip, we discuss your goal, medical history, current medication and any contraindications. Your blood pressure and pulse are measured. The assessment is included in the price.
- 3
Placing the IV line
1–2 minutes
The nurse disinfects the area and inserts the cannula, usually in the forearm. It feels like a brief needle prick.
- 4
The infusion
30–60 minutes (up to 180 for NAD+)
The drip runs slowly while you lie down or sit comfortably. You can read, work or talk on the phone. The rate is adjusted according to how you feel.
- 5
Monitoring and departure
5–10 minutes
The cannula is removed, a dressing is applied and we stay a few more minutes for observation. You can return to your activities straight away; we remain available by phone after we leave.
What the nurse brings
- A complete kit with sterile, single-use materials (cannula, infusion set, disinfectant, dressing)
- The infusion solution prepared for the agreed protocol
- An IV stand or a hanging system
- A blood pressure monitor and a pulse oximeter for the assessment beforehand
- An emergency kit, mandatory for any intravenous administration
- A container for medical waste — everything leaves with the nurse
What you prepare
- A place where you can lie down or sit comfortably for 30–60 minutes (bed, sofa, armchair)
- A socket or a table next to you, if you want to work during the infusion
- A light meal 1–2 hours before — administration on an empty stomach is not recommended
- The list of medicines you take and your recent test results, if you have them to hand
- Clothing with loose sleeves, or sleeves that are easy to roll up
What you can have at home
Most protocols can be given at home. The most requested:
Iron infusion: yes, but only at the clinic
It is one of the most searched-for IV drips at home, so we answer directly: we give intravenous iron, but exclusively at the clinic — not at home. The reason is the setting, not availability: intravenous iron can cause hypersensitivity reactions, and administration requires a unit with emergency equipment and an observation period after the infusion. At the clinic we have this setting, supervised by Dr. Claudiu Ruscu, a specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care — the specialty that deals with such situations every day.
- 500 mg protocolferric carboxymaltose · 500 mg iron · ~2.5 hours with observation1100 RON
- 200 mg protocoliron sucrose · 200 mg iron · ~1.5 hours with observation600 RON
The medical assessment is included in the price, as with the other protocols. Which of the two suits you is decided at the assessment, according to the deficiency.
Continuous monitoring throughout the administration — blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse and ECG. It is not optional and does not depend on the protocol: with intravenous iron it is always done. It is also why you stay in the clinic after the infusion has finished, not only during it.
Intravenous iron is not a wellness protocol and is not given on request. It requires a deficiency confirmed by blood tests: ferritin, serum iron and a full blood count, plus, when appropriate, C-reactive protein — ferritin rises with inflammation and can mask a real deficiency. Bring your recent test results to the appointment or tell us at the assessment what you have had done so far; if the indication does not hold up, we tell you honestly and refer you on.
And a correct expectation, because many people have the wrong one: the effects in correcting anaemia show at least two weeks after administration. You don't leave the clinic with more energy — the body needs time to rebuild haemoglobin with the iron it has received. Anyone who promises you a result you can feel the next day is selling you something else.
The other protocols on this page can also be given at home, in Bucharest and Ilfov. Book an assessment if you want to discuss whether intravenous iron makes sense in your case.

Safety, without compromise
IV drips at home are administered by medical staff, with sterile materials, always after an assessment. We do not give them “to anyone, at any time” — certain conditions (kidney, heart) call for caution. If a protocol is not right for you, we tell you directly.
Medical supervision — why it matters who puts in your drip
At SYNERVA, every protocol has medical backing. The clinic's medical coordinator is Dr. Claudiu Ruscu, a physician in anaesthesia and intensive care — exactly the specialty that, in hospital, deals every day with intravenous administration, the correct dosing of fluids and substances, and the management of any reaction. For us, IV drips are not a “wellness extra” — they are the core competence of the physician who supervises them.
Meet the medical team →IV drips at home — what it means in practice
An IV drip at home is not a second-rate service. A nurse comes to your home or office, with sterile, single-use materials, after the same assessment you would have at the clinic. The protocol, the doses and the monitoring are identical — only the place changes.
What you gain: you lose no time travelling, you stay in your own surroundings and you can return to what you were doing as soon as it is over. What you give up: a setting with emergency equipment a few steps away. That is why not every protocol can be given at home — iron infusion, for example, is given exclusively at the clinic.
If the assessment shows that the protocol you want is not suitable for administration at home, we tell you before the appointment, not after the nurse is at your door.
Vitamin IV drip at home
The most requested category at home is vitamin IV drips: the vitamin B complex, high-dose vitamin C, minerals and electrolytes. They are short protocols, 30–45 minutes, well tolerated, that need no special equipment — which is why they lend themselves to administration at home.
The same protocols can also be given at the office, if that is more convenient for you. The price of the drip is the same as at the clinic; only the travel fee, shown above, is added.
See all vitamin IV drips →Clinic or home — how to choose
In both cases the medical standard is the same — supervision by an intensive care physician, an assessment beforehand, sterile materials, monitoring. Only the place differs.
Choose home if
- •you want maximum comfort and the privacy of your home,
- •you have a busy schedule — we come to you, at home or at the office,
- •you are recovering after exertion, a trip or a demanding period,
- •you prefer to avoid travelling and the waiting room.
Choose the clinic if
- •it is your first longevity assessment and you want the conversation face to face,
- •you want to see the space and discuss the protocol at length,
- •the chosen protocol requires the clinic's conditions — we will tell you honestly at the assessment when that is the case.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an IV drip at home cost?
The protocol price starts at 250 RON, plus the travel fee: 100 RON in Bucharest (free from 600 RON) and 150 RON in Ilfov (free from 900 RON). The medical assessment and sterile materials are included in the protocol price. The full table is above, and we confirm the final amount when you book, before anyone comes out.
How much is the travel fee?
In Bucharest the travel fee is 100 RON (free for orders of 600 RON or more). In Ilfov it is 150 RON (free from 900 RON). The protocol price is shown separately, with no surprises.
Can vitamin IV drips be given at home in Bucharest?
Yes. SYNERVA, the IV drip clinic in Sector 1, gives vitamin IV drips at home in all 6 sectors of Bucharest and in Ilfov. The vitamin B complex, vitamin C, minerals and the energy or immunity protocols are given at home after the same medical assessment as at the clinic; intravenous iron, only at the clinic.
How does an IV drip at home work?
You book a time slot and have a short medical assessment, then a nurse comes to your home and administers the drip safely. We remain available afterwards, too.
Which areas do you cover?
All of Bucharest (all 6 sectors) and the Ilfov towns around the capital — Voluntari, Otopeni, Pipera, Popești-Leordeni, Chiajna, Bragadiru and others. If you are not sure we reach you, ask us.
How quickly can you get here?
We work by appointment, at a time fixed together with you, not with an estimated arrival time. Our hours are 09:00–20:00, every day; for the same day, call us and we will tell you straight away which slot is free in your area. Travel time depends on traffic, so we do not promise a number of minutes.
Can I have the drip at home if my veins are hard to find?
Most of the time, yes — tell us from the start, when you book. It helps to drink water in the hours before and to stay warm: veins are then easier to see and feel. The cannula is usually placed in the forearm or on the back of the hand, by medical staff used to venous access. If placing it does not succeed comfortably and safely, we do not insist with repeated pricks and we discuss the right alternative, including coming to the clinic.
Is it safe to have an IV drip at home?
Yes, when it is administered by medical staff, after an assessment. That is exactly why we do not do it for anyone, at any time — certain conditions call for caution, and the assessment exists precisely to establish whether the protocol suits you.
Can you come at the weekend or at short notice?
Depending on the team's availability, yes. For busy periods (holidays, events), we recommend contacting us in advance so we can reserve the slot.
Can I book an IV drip for someone else (a parent, a partner)?
Yes. However, the drip is given with the consent and assessment of the person receiving it — the medical assessment remains mandatory for every patient, regardless of who makes the booking.
Will the drip “cure” my tiredness, hangover or another problem?
We do not promise cures. IV drips support hydration, the intake of vitamins and antioxidants, recovery and wellbeing — they do not replace a diagnosis or a treatment for a medical condition. If you have a health problem, we will tell you honestly when you should see a doctor first.
How is an IV drip given at home, step by step?
Booking (2–3 minutes), an on-site medical assessment with blood pressure and pulse (5–10 minutes), placing the cannula (1–2 minutes), the infusion itself (30–60 minutes, up to 180 for NAD+), then removing the cannula and a few minutes of observation. The nurse brings everything needed and leaves with the medical waste as well.
What do I need to prepare at home?
A place where you can sit comfortably for 30–60 minutes, a table next to you if you want to work, a light meal 1–2 hours before (not on an empty stomach) and, if you have them to hand, the list of your medicines and your recent test results. The nurse brings the rest.
Do you give iron infusions at home?
We give intravenous iron exclusively at the clinic, not at home. Administration requires a unit with emergency equipment and an observation period after the infusion, and at the clinic we have this setting, supervised by a specialist intensive care physician. We work with two protocols: 500 mg iron (ferric carboxymaltose, 1100 RON, about 2.5 hours including observation) and 200 mg iron (iron sucrose, 600 RON, about 1.5 hours). Throughout the administration there is continuous monitoring — blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse and ECG. A deficiency confirmed by blood tests is required — ferritin, serum iron and a full blood count, plus C-reactive protein when appropriate — it is not given on request. The effects in correcting anaemia show at least two weeks after administration, not immediately.
