Intravenous support during injectable weight-loss treatment
English translation of content medically reviewed in Romanian by Dr. Claudiu Ruscu, intensive care physician (anaesthesia & intensive care)· Romanian text reviewed 20 September 2026
It is an intake of fluids, electrolytes and micronutrients given intravenously, at the clinic, under medical supervision, for people on injectable weight-loss treatment, during periods when their oral intake of fluids and food is low. A session takes 60-90 minutes and costs 450 RON, with the medical assessment included. It does not treat the side effects of the injectable treatment, has no effect on weight and does not replace the instructions of your treating doctor.
from 450 RON · medical assessment included · at the clinic or at home

- Medical assessment mandatory before the first session
- Sterile, single-use materials

We say from the start what it is not: it is not a weight-loss method, it does not speed anything up and it does not fix a treatment that isn't working. If you came here looking for that, we will tell you honestly that we have nothing to sell you.
Medically assessed protocol
Benefits
Fluid intake, when oral intake is low
A rehydration solution given intravenously, during periods when you cannot manage to drink enough. That is all — nothing more than that.
Electrolytes: sodium, potassium, magnesium
An intake of electrolytes in situations where a reduced diet does not cover it. The composition is set by the doctor at the assessment.
Micronutrients, after the assessment
Added only when the medical assessment shows that it makes sense. It is not a standard cocktail given to everyone.
60-90 minutes, a single puncture
You lie down, monitored, with a single cannula in place. You go back to your activities straight afterwards.
Medical assessment included
We check your medical history, medication, blood pressure and kidney and heart function. If it isn't suitable, we tell you and you leave without booking.
We don't touch your treatment
We do not change it, stop it or discuss doses or schedules. The injectable treatment stays with the doctor who prescribed it.
IV drip or oral supplements — when each one fits
It is not “better or worse” — they have different roles. Here is the difference, stated fairly.
| IV drip | Oral supplements | |
|---|---|---|
| Absorption | Directly into the bloodstream | Variable, through digestion |
| When it fits | A one-off session, with a medical assessment | Daily intake, over the long term |
| Role | A medical procedure, personalised protocol | General support |
An IV drip does not replace a balanced lifestyle or the treatment recommended by your doctor.

What exactly is the support drip?
A rehydration solution with electrolytes — sodium, potassium, magnesium — and micronutrients, given intravenously over 60-90 minutes, at the clinic, under medical supervision. The composition is set by the doctor at the assessment, according to your situation; it is not a fixed recipe poured out for everyone.
Its role is single and narrow: to cover your intake of fluids, electrolytes and micronutrients during periods when your oral intake is low. It does nothing beyond that, and anyone who promises you more is selling you something other than a medical service.

Will the drip get rid of my nausea, tiredness or dehydration?
No. We do not treat, relieve or counteract the side effects of the injectable treatment — those are discussed with the doctor who prescribed it, because they have the full context and they can adjust the schedule.
This is not a matter of wording. A persistent side effect is clinical information that your treating doctor needs. If you cover it up with a drip instead of reporting it, you delay a decision that belongs to you and to them.
Severe and persistent nausea, repeated vomiting, severe abdominal pain that does not ease or signs of severe dehydration are not reasons for a support drip. They are reasons for urgent medical care. We tell you this even if it means you leave without booking anything.
Who is not eligible and why there is an assessment first
The assessment is not a front-desk formality. Fluid volume given intravenously has real limits in a person with heart or kidney failure, and electrolytes are given according to what the body has and what it excretes, not according to a standard scheme.
It is not given in heart or kidney failure that limits the volume that can be given, in uncontrolled high blood pressure, in known electrolyte imbalances that have not been investigated, in pregnancy and breastfeeding unless indicated by your treating doctor, or to people with known hypersensitivity to the components of the solution.
At the assessment we check your medical history, current medication, blood pressure and kidney and heart function. If the result is that it is not suitable for you, you are told directly.
What it costs and what the price includes
A session costs 450 RON and includes the medical assessment.
The clinic's full prices are published on the prices page, and appointments are made through the booking form or on WhatsApp.
What we read and what we write about injectable treatment
We have written seven articles about the questions people on injectable treatment ask — not to sell drips, but because answers in Romanian are almost entirely missing, and what does exist is written to sell something.
Nowhere do we discuss doses, titration schedules, where the medicine is sold or how to obtain it without a prescription. Those are solely a matter for the prescribing doctor.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost and what does the price include?
450 RON per session, with the medical assessment included.
Can I have the IV drip if my veins are hard to find?
Most of the time, yes — tell us from the start, when you book. It helps a lot to drink water in the hours before and not to arrive cold: in a hydrated, warm body the veins are easier to see and feel. The cannula is usually placed on the forearm or the back of the hand, by medical staff used to finding veins. If it cannot be placed comfortably and safely, we do not keep trying with repeated needle sticks, and we discuss the right option with you.
Will the drip get rid of my nausea or tiredness?
No. We do not treat or relieve the side effects of the injectable treatment — those are for the doctor who prescribed it. What we do is provide an intake of fluids, electrolytes and micronutrients when your oral intake is low and the assessment shows it makes sense.
Will it help me lose weight faster?
No. It has no effect at all on weight and it is not a weight-loss method. If anyone promises you otherwise, they have no way to back it up.
How long does a session take and what will I feel?
60-90 minutes, with a single venous puncture. You lie down, monitored, and go back to your activities straight afterwards. Apart from the prick when the cannula goes in, you usually don't feel anything in particular.
What does the drip contain?
A rehydration solution with electrolytes — sodium, potassium, magnesium — and micronutrients. The exact composition is set by the doctor at the assessment, according to your situation. It is not a fixed recipe given to everyone.
Should I tell my doctor I’m coming here?
Yes, and we encourage you to. The injectable treatment remains in the care of the doctor who prescribed it. We do not change it, stop it or discuss doses or administration schedules.
What happens at the medical assessment?
We check your medical history, current medication, blood pressure, kidney and heart function, and whether there are any contraindications. If it isn’t suitable for you, we tell you directly and you leave without booking anything.
Who cannot have this drip?
It is not given in heart or kidney failure that limits the volume that can be given, in uncontrolled high blood pressure, in known electrolyte imbalances that have not been investigated, in pregnancy and breastfeeding unless indicated by your treating doctor, or to people with hypersensitivity to the components of the solution.
Can it be done at home?
No. It is given only at the clinic in Bucharest, because the first assessment and the monitoring during the session require a clinical setting.
I have vomiting that won't stop. Can I come for a drip?
No. Persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain and signs of severe dehydration mean the emergency department, not a support drip. If they come up at the assessment, we do not give anything and we refer you on.
