Resveratrol has a bigger reputation than the evidence behind it. We tell you what is known, what is not known and what it costs — before you decide whether it is worth it.
Medically assessed protocol
Benefits
An intensively studied polyphenol
Resveratrol is one of the most researched dietary polyphenols, with interest in cellular protection and the response to oxidative stress.
Bypasses digestive metabolism
Taken orally it is absorbed, but it is rapidly transformed in the gut and liver. The drip bypasses this first step.
A fixed, predictable dose
50 mg at every session, given slowly, over about 60 minutes.
Part of a wellness routine
Chosen as antioxidant support by people building a self-care routine — not as a treatment for a medical condition.
Honesty about the evidence
We tell you up front what has not been shown in humans, so that you decide on an informed basis, not on a promise.
Medical administration
Medical staff, sterile materials, coordination by a specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care, and equipment for emergencies.
IV drip or oral supplements — when each one fits
It is not “better or worse” — they have different roles. Here is the difference, stated fairly.
| IV drip | Oral supplements | |
|---|---|---|
| Absorption | Directly into the bloodstream | Variable, through digestion |
| When it fits | A one-off session, with a medical assessment | Daily intake, over the long term |
| Role | A medical procedure, personalised protocol | General support |
An IV drip does not replace a balanced lifestyle or the treatment recommended by your doctor.
Prices
Published prices, no surprises. The medical assessment is included.

What resveratrol is
Resveratrol is a polyphenol that some plants produce in response to stress — to fungal attack, ultraviolet radiation or injury. It is found in the skin of red grapes, in red wine, in peanuts and in blueberries, but in small amounts. Supplements usually extract it from Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum).
It became known in the 1990s, when it was put forward as an explanation for the so-called “French paradox”. The idea was not confirmed: the amount of resveratrol in a glass of wine is too small to explain anything. Scientific interest remained, however, and the molecule has been studied for more than two decades.
At Synerva, in Bucharest, resveratrol is given intravenously, at a dose of 50 mg, as a slow drip of about an hour. We present it as antioxidant support within a wellness routine, after a medical assessment — not as a treatment and not as a protocol with a proven effect.

Resveratrol benefits — what studies show and what they do not
Research on cells and animals is extensive. In the laboratory, resveratrol has shown antioxidant effects, influenced markers of inflammation and activated sirtuins — enzymes involved in regulating cellular metabolism. These results fuelled the enthusiasm around it, including in research on cellular ageing.
In humans, the picture is much more modest. Clinical studies are mostly small and short, and use oral resveratrol, in very different doses — from a few tens of milligrams to several grams a day. They looked at metabolic, cardiovascular and inflammatory markers, with inconsistent results: some studies found slight changes, others none.
For intravenous administration, data in humans are scarce. There are no studies showing that a resveratrol drip prolongs life, prevents a disease or slows ageing, and we make no such claims. If you choose this drip, you choose it as part of a self-care routine, knowing that the evidence is still being built.
Why intravenous: the problem with oral resveratrol
Resveratrol taken by mouth is absorbed relatively well, but the gut and liver very quickly transform it into conjugated metabolites. The result is that little resveratrol reaches the blood in its free form. This is the main limitation of supplements and the reason some people choose the intravenous route.
The drip bypasses the first step of digestive metabolism, so the whole dose reaches the bloodstream. It is only right to tell you the rest too: once in the blood, resveratrol is also rapidly metabolised by this route. Whether its metabolites have a role of their own is a question research is still studying.
Resveratrol in supplements or as a drip — how to choose
Resveratrol supplements are available in pharmacies and online shops, often under the name trans-resveratrol, sometimes combined with other substances. They are food supplements, not medicines, and their quality and actual content vary from one manufacturer to another.
For long-term daily intake, a good-quality supplement can be a reasonable choice — we say so even though we offer the other option. The drip is an occasional session, with a known dose, given by medical staff, after an assessment. At 900 RON a session, it is a choice worth making only if you understand the limits of the evidence.
How much the resveratrol IV drip costs — price in Bucharest
At Synerva, the resveratrol 50 mg IV drip costs 900 RON per session, with the medical assessment included. The consultation is not paid for separately and nothing is added for materials.
We do not currently have a resveratrol course at a package price: each session is paid for separately, and the frequency, if you choose more than one, is agreed with the doctor. For home visits, travel costs 100 RON in Bucharest (free from 600 RON) and 150 RON in Ilfov (free from 900 RON), so no travel fee is added to the price of this drip.
How a session works
1. The assessment
The doctor discusses your goal, medical history and current medication with you and checks for any contraindications. The assessment is included in the price.
2. Placing the cannula
A cannula is placed, usually in your forearm or the back of your hand. You only feel the needle prick, as with a blood test.
3. The drip
The resveratrol runs slowly, for about 60 minutes. You can sit comfortably, read or work, with medical staff present.
4. After the session
You return to your activities straight away. If you notice anything unusual in the following hours, call the clinic's number.
Resveratrol contraindications — who it is not recommended for
The resveratrol IV drip is not given without a medical assessment. It is not given during pregnancy and breastfeeding, because there are no safety data, in the case of a known allergy to the components of the preparation, in severe kidney failure, or during a severe active infection.
A few situations require a careful discussion with the doctor. In laboratory studies, resveratrol reduced platelet aggregation, so treatment with anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs and surgery planned in the coming period must be mentioned at the assessment. Resveratrol also has oestrogen-like activity in laboratory studies, so hormone-sensitive conditions are discussed beforehand. At high oral doses, interactions with medicines metabolised by the liver have also been reported — that is why we ask for your full list of medication.
The side effects most often described in studies, digestive discomfort and diarrhoea, occur at oral doses in the gram range, not at 50 mg. With the drip, the most likely are local reactions at the cannula site; allergic reactions are rare, and administration takes place in a setting with emergency equipment, coordinated by a specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care. The full list of precautions for all protocols is in the IV drip safety guide.
Resveratrol, NAD+ and glutathione — what is the difference
Resveratrol often comes up in the same discussion as NAD+, because the sirtuins studied in resveratrol research are enzymes that depend on NAD+. They are nevertheless different molecules, with different roles: NAD+ is a coenzyme present in every cell, resveratrol is a plant polyphenol. We explain NAD+ separately, on the page about the NAD+ IV drip.
Glutathione is the main antioxidant produced by the body, with a well-documented physiological role; the drip starts at 250 RON — details on the page about injectable glutathione. If your goal is a long-term self-care routine, the doctor can also present the longevity protocols at the assessment, with the differences in composition and price.
Who it may make sense for — and who it does not
The resveratrol IV drip may be suitable for adults who are building a wellness routine, understand that the evidence in humans is limited and want administration with a known dose, carried out by medical staff.
It is not suitable if you are looking for treatment of a disease, if you hope for a visible effect after a single session, or if your tiredness has lasted for weeks without explanation — there, the first step is a consultation and blood tests, not a drip. If the assessment shows you are not a suitable candidate, we will tell you before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a resveratrol IV drip cost in Bucharest?
900 RON per session for resveratrol 50 mg, at Synerva, with the medical assessment included. There is currently no course at a package price; each session is paid for separately.
Can I have the IV drip if my veins are hard to find?
Most of the time, yes — tell us from the start, when you book. It helps a lot to drink water in the hours before and not to arrive cold: in a hydrated, warm body the veins are easier to see and feel. The cannula is usually placed on the forearm or the back of the hand, by medical staff used to finding veins. If it cannot be placed comfortably and safely, we do not keep trying with repeated needle sticks, and we discuss the right option with you.
What is resveratrol?
A polyphenol produced by some plants, present in small amounts in red grapes, red wine, peanuts and blueberries. It has been studied for more than two decades, mainly in connection with cellular protection.
What benefits of resveratrol have been proven in humans?
Few, to put it honestly. Research on cells and animals is extensive, but studies in humans are small, mostly use oral resveratrol and have inconsistent results. We do not promise effects and we do not present it as a treatment.
Why intravenous and not as a supplement?
Because oral resveratrol is metabolised very quickly in the gut and liver, so little reaches the blood in its free form. The drip bypasses this step. Even after the drip, however, the molecule is rapidly metabolised.
How long does the resveratrol IV drip take?
About 60 minutes of administration, plus the medical assessment beforehand.
What are the contraindications of resveratrol?
Pregnancy and breastfeeding, known allergy to the components, severe kidney failure and severe active infections. Treatment with anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs, planned surgery and hormone-sensitive conditions must be discussed at the assessment.
Can I have the drip if I take anticoagulants?
The doctor decides at the assessment, with your full list of medicines. In laboratory studies resveratrol reduced platelet aggregation, so combining it with anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs does not happen without this discussion.
Can it be given at home?
Yes, in Bucharest and Ilfov, after the same assessment. Travel is free from 600 RON in Bucharest and from 900 RON in Ilfov, so no travel fee is added for this drip.
Can I combine resveratrol with NAD+ or glutathione?
It can be discussed, but not in the same session without the doctor's recommendation. At the assessment the doctor explains the differences between the protocols and whether a combination makes sense for your goal.
